Need to know how to convert cubic meters into board feet?
You know how much lineal feet you have but need to convert it to board feet?
Below are some of the commonly used formulas.
Board Footage (FBM)

FBM = LF x Width x Thickness ÷ 12

(LF x Width x Thick ÷ 12)


3000 x 6 x 1.5 ÷ 12 = 2250 FBM
Lineal Footage (LF)

LF = FBM x 12 ÷ Width ÷ Thickness

1500 x 12 ÷ 6 ÷ 1.5 = 2000 FBM
Board Footage (FBM) into Cubic Meters (M3)

FBM ÷ 424 = Cubic Meters

Price Conversion Formulas

Below are some of the commonly used price conversion formulas.
Price/M FBM into Price/LF

Price/M x Width x Thickness ÷ 12 ÷ 1000 = Price/LF

500 x 6 x 1.5 ÷ 12 ÷ 1000 = $0.375/LF
Price/LF into Price/M FBM

Price/LF ÷ Width ÷ Thickness x 12 x 1000 = Price/LF
